Cucipop is fast indeed, but I would expect an increase in performance if you turn from the standard inbox format to Maildir (you aren't using cucipop with Maildir , are you ?? ),

Now i'm using normal /var/spool/mail, because cucipop support only this type of mailbox. I'm trying to switch to Maildir and authuserdb, but i have several problem in compiling.

Maildir rules!

I'm testing the courier pop3 server with fairly high load (50000 users, 3 sessions per second), custom authentication, [*] and the performance seems to be decent . The qmail-pop server seems a little faster, though.

Since i must support only 5000-6000 account, i think courier pop3 was enough good.

Thanks.

Cheers.
