Hello All,
I am having a problem getting DBD to compile on my SGI Altix with Itanium2
processors. I've downloaded the MySQL binary,
mysql-standard-4.1.12-unknown-linux-gnu-ia64-icc-glibc23, and it appears
to run fine.
When I try to do a make on DBD however I get errors that tell me: gprel
relocation against dynamic symbol
From what I understand this is because I am running a MySQL that hasn't
been configured with --with-pic. Do I need to download and recompile
MySQL? I'm hesitant to do this, as the binary package as already been
compiled with the Intel Compilers. Although I do have the 9.0 compilers, I
fear it may be a whole pile of steps backwards as I try to get it to
compile.
