I bet you that you haven't designated a host name in Apache's httpd.conf. Look for a variable called ServerName and name it ie. www.yourdomain.com
After that, Apache should work fine.
Hope this helps JF Prieur, MCSE e being communications inc.

Greetings Richard,
I am attempting to start the Apacher service on Windows NT Workstation.
I find it interesting that I am also receiving "Error 1067: The process has terminated unexpectedly" upon attempting to start the Apache service via the Services applet of the Control Panel.
I have searched the Microsoft Knowledge base (http://support.microsoft.com) but without any luck. I am going to look for the Apache web site (http://www.apache.org) in order to see if the issue is addressed there.
If I find anything, I will let you know.

Gentlemen,
I have tried, almost to the point of nervous breakdown, to install first the Beta 3.23.25 and then every other know version prior for NT. I always get an "Error 1067" after I install the service in control panel Services and attempt to start the service "mysql". The damn service just will not start, which of coarse makes the whole installation thing a bit moot. I am tired of banging my head against a wall on this. Could you shed any light on the subject? The only thing I have installed after the mysql install was Perl5 to be able to generate some table data for mysql.
I followed the directions regarding the installation of the daemon, i.e. cd'ing to the (verified) installation directory, c:\mysql\bin and issuing the command "mysqld-nt --install". This worked and I found that the service was indeed installed in the control panel services listing as an automatically loaded service, however when I attempted to set it to RUNNING status, regardless of the many ways I tried, it failed to start. I tried START from inside the services facility in control panel, I tried starting it from inside mysqladmin, I tried NET START MYSQL...all of these caused the system error 1067 and the service was reportedly not able to start. I also de-installed the entire package and re-installed it again and used the mysqld instead of mysqld-nt. I also tried installing earlier versions of 3.23, i.e. build 23 and 24. I also tried starting mysql with the --standalone switch. Fortunately for me, the uninstall went without a hitch! Perhaps, in the final analysis, you really do get what you pay for.
