Hello Daniel,

At the moment, Android comprises a software development suite that allows developers to write and test their software using an emulator (a program that pretends to be a mobile phone). The programs that are written on Android will be able to run on any phone that will be released with the operating system; as of now, it's up to the manufacturers to decide if they will ship phones with the os. So for now, i think you can only test Android apps. on the emulator. At the moment we don't know which phones will ship with Android.

I stand to be corrected.

Cheers,

Lloyd Dube

Hi i need more information. This is the most vaguest project ever. There is an SDK, but no phone compatibility list to actual test everything out properly. How can you test things work without a known compatible phone for instance ?

I am asking if you have to load android onto the phone firmware and run that instead of the nokia supplied one. Or do you run android on top of it ? I would prefer to be running linux than Symbian / Windows. I'll need to know this before deciding if to buy it.

Thanks.

If you are asking if you can make run Androids upon E90/61 the answer is: absolutely not! They are both Symbian Phones.

If you are asking if Nokia can install Androids on E90/61 the answer is: Maybe.

Hi there, I would like to look at replacing my Nokia E61 with an E90. Is the Nokia E90 capable of running the Android OS ? Sorry I still don't understand how it actually runs on a phone. I would also need to know how the firmware is able to be set back to factory defaults just in case Android messes up or I have to tell it again. Can Android do Wireless , VOIP calls , VPN connections, SSH etc ?

Let me know thanks !
