From: Hugh Wallis [mailto:hugh@xbrl.org] Sent: January 10, 2007 5:53 PM To: 'XBRL International Mailing List' Subject: Spec 2.1 errata correction 2006-12-18 published

The XBRL International Standards Board today approved the publication of a new set of errata corrections to the XBRL 2.1, Specitication. The updated documents will be found at [3]http://www.xbrl.org/SpecRecommendations/

Of most significance in this set of corrections is an update to the normative schema files that is intended to enhance interoperability with other specifications and users of the W3C XLink specification. The schema that implements the W3C's http://www.xbrl.org/2003/XLink namespace has been updated and attendant necessary changes made to the XBRL owned namespace schemas. These corrections have been tested for compatibility with other standards such as the CIQ standard from OASIS and the new XBRL implementation of the http://www.xbrl.org/2003/XLink namespace adopted by the OASIS CIQ TC as a result. We are grateful to the members of the OASIS CIQ TC for their collaboration in this effort to enhance interoperability.

Thanks

Hugh
