Subject:[sqwebmail] address bookActions...

I have a friend who wants his address book sorted and is thus frustrated by the fact that a new address goes to the bottom of the list.

He has a list of street addresses where someone may or may not have an e-mail address. A simple-minded approach would simply be to have "place holder" addresses for each street address. Is there a safe "null" e-mail address that doesn't get sent or bounced?

OTOH the address book is just a text file (the user does not have shell access) and the only time the user sees the address book is when he edits it (right?). So maybe there is a way to piggyback a Perl sort script onto the page generation or the address book writing routine. But first, how are the "[#...#]" getting interpreted?

Thanks for your time.

Mark
