I do use qmail-scanner, it's a very nice piece of code. the real question is how do I intergrate maildrop with qmail-scanner so i can control smapassassin sitewide.

If you're doing it sitewide, I would recommend going with qmail-scanner. It intercepts the messages as they are being delivered and is easy to integrate. It also allows virus scanning against incoming email.
