Thanks for the heads up on backscatter. I'm stuck with Debian sarge/dapper servers with courier 0.47 so I guess I'll have to grin and bare it till Debian etch/edgy is released with v0.5+.

One has nothing to do with the other. The new backscatter options in 0.5x help in preventing Courier itself from generating backscatter. All versions of Courier can use external blacklists.

But, having said that, updated Debian packages are easily available.
