Agreed, but we made stuff like that happen in 2.1-stable for 2.2 that required rebuilds of stuff, so the precedent is set and it didnt' negatively affect folks as much.

But this is not just about rebuilding stuff or I'd have no objection either. It's forced migration of config files I'm worried about.

Only if folks are doing 'make world' on a regular basis, which would be silly on a machine in 'maintenance' mode.

And, my config files required updating in the sendmail upgrades on that branch.
