Hi,
When I install MySQL as a Windows Service under Windows 2000 I
have a heck of time fully uninstalling it. If I reinstall MySQL it usually
won't run successfully again as a Windows Service. I reboot my machines
after each uninstall. I'll get a generic "Can't start Service" message
when I try to start the service after a reinstall. I've even gone so far
as to delete Registry keys that appear to be related to the service; this
has the effect of removing the service name from the Service Manager, but
I still cannot start the Service up once I reinstall. My Error log
apparently returns nothing. Sigh. Any ideas???
Thanks!
DTS
(PS. I installed the original service using "mysqld --install"; if there's
a better way, I'm all ears! )
