Is that entirely true? I log in to talk.google.com as

It might be accurate to say, "Gmail's jabber server's FEDERATION only
works for Google-owned domains."
Which doesn't make sense.
But I can log into their jabber
server with my Gmail-hosted domain login ID. I had figured that
federation might work, but wasn't sure if how the dns-name lookup
worked. Since only my MX recort points to Google, there's no way for
other Jabber servers to know that I don't have my own server, and that
it's really talk.google.com that's backending my account.
Oh, well, didn't know they had started serving jabber to it's customer email
domains. In this case, it's a matter of setting up the right DNS
information: Contact your registrar and Google directly for more information.
