Actually guys,

I am a dumb ass. There was a setting in the "properties" section of the mailbox. Under the IMAP tab, there is a setting called "root folder path". Just set this to "INBOX" and then put "Sent Items Path" as "sent-mail". THen it works fine. I didn't check the Outlook Express settings more carefully. Ooops.

No, I tried that. Outlook Express gives me an error. I would imagine that there is a way around this since so many people use Oultook Express in a corporate environment.

Don't be so sure. There is an amazing amount of inconsistency and unsurmountable brokenness in MS software. Most companies (like mine) just live with it. To most people, if Outlook Express works, regardless of where it puts its Sent Items folder (BTW, I have done a little investigation myself and have not yet discovered how to get Outlook Express to put this folder somewhere reasonable, my suspicion is that there is no way to do it), then it's fine. The only people who really care are sysadmins who like to keep things neat and orderly, and Microsoft does not write software for them.

We all know that Microsoft simply does not have the money or manpower to fix its broken software (sarcasm).
