This goes along with my interest in implementing additional transit
data formats. As most transit data is in vendor specific formats, this
is the most likely scenario for extension, e.g. GIRO Hastus' CAD/AVL
export file format.

The Google Transit Data Feed project is an effort to provide transit
operators with a tool to generate transit system data in the Google
Transit data feed specific format. It is an Open Source Software
project.
I hope this can help getting transit operators up and running with
Google Transit. At this initial stage, you can download a program to
transform transit data in the TransXChange standard format to the
Google Transit specific data feed format. A good portion of transit
data in the field is exclusively available in various vendor specific
formats. I am hoping to get an opportunity to implement vendor specific
transit data formats as well, and include them in the project's code
base.
