For topic (3) 'Revisiting asadmin commands', we will discuss the following lifecycle commands in this meeting.

create/delete/start/stop/list-domains, start/stop-appserv http://appserver.sfbay.sun.com/apollo/cli/sjsas9_cli_commands.html#Server_Lifecycle create/delete/start/stop/list-node-agents, create/delete-node-agent-config http://appserver.sfbay.sun.com/apollo/cli/sjsas9_cli_commands.html#NodeAgent create/delete/start/stop/list-instances http://appserver.sfbay.sun.com/apollo/cli/sjsas9_cli_commands.html#ServerInstanceCommands create/delete/start/stop/list-clusters http://appserver.sfbay.sun.com/apollo/cli/sjsas9_cli_commands.html#ClusterCommands

We will discuss all the asadmin commands as a five part series, each meeting would cover a specific set of commands (Lifecycle, resource, HADB, config etc.,). Please come prepared to discuss Lifecycle commands (as mentioned above) in terms of 1) If we need some new commands 2) any commands that are no longer relevant 3) modifications to the commands (syntax, output etc., see bug 6424932 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=6424932> 6363917 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=6363917> 6179968 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=6179968> 5064812 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=5064812>6173065 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=6173065> 6428076 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=6428076-2138348>) 4) new features that are needed to make asadmin more usable (search feature to help4994007 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=4994007> 4817185 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=4817185> 6328156 <http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsp?cr=6328156>, embedded shell, etc).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Prashanth has proposed a series on revisiting asadmin commands. This will be a 5 part series over the next few iteam meetings. Agenda is below:

Agenda : 1. Status Review from Docs, QE and Dev teams (10 minutes) 2. ASARCH updates relevant to admin team - Kedar (10 minutes) 3. Revisiting asadmin commands (Prashanth, with participation and inputs Jane, Kedar and others in the team) 35 minutes 4. Open mic.

Yet to be discussed *1. QE's issue tracker bug fix:*.

*2. Hanan's list of questions finalized:* Qs remaining to be answered (or needing further inputs from developers): 1. Need some specific scenarios about when port numbers are incremented automatically, when they are inherited, and when you manually override values. Maybe a graphic or two would be helpful here 2. Need info on how are the port numbers validated? The ports are validated for uniqueness in the DAS, but not necessarily on the machine in which the server runs. What tests are done on port numbers -- Judy? 3. Would like to provide a graphic on the lifecycle of a pool. How the AppServer accesses a JDBC resource , then that accesses the pool and finally the database.
