Subject:[maildropl] Maildrop: Signal 0X0B ErrorActions...
From:Rick Evans (rick@msmisp.com)

Initially I had a problem with file permissions. I am unable to recall if it was the ~vmail/.mailfilterrc or the /etc/maildroprc. Move the files to another name temporarily to test my assumption. If the problem goes away, then change the permissions. I think that they have to be 600, or so. I believe that this issue is also well documented in the manuals.

I tried to rename the maildroprc file as well as the maildropmysql.config file (both to a .old extension). I tried rerunning the command:

echo "Hello" | ./maildrop -d "rick@ohiotelnet.com" (I am executing this command from /usr/local/courier/bin)

however it produces the exact same error as above in the subject line. I am at a loss for what to do next. I tried to change the permissions for both of the files to 600 as mentioned above but to no avail. The walkthough stated to place the maildroprc file in the /etc/ directory so I did that as well (including changing the permissions and changing the extension to .old just to see whether it was pointing there for some reason as well. I searched for the file maildroprc to make sure it was not placed in any other directories and it was not.

If I can provide any more information to the list to help troubleshoot this problem, please let me know and I will be more than happy to do so. I am running RedHat v9, MySQL v 3.23.58, Courier-Imap 3.0.3, Maildrop 1.6.3. The system routes mail fine provide it is set for virtual: as the transport vs maildrop:

Kind Regards,
