Tim I am facing the exact same problem, I haven't got a clue how to upload the simple MySQL database I have built. I think you do it by producing some kind of SQL dump. However I found this useful piece of software http://www.webyog.com/sqlyog/index.php which allows you to replicate your MySQL db from one server to another.

I have created a database at my local server and now I want to move it to another server.

My first try was simply to upload the three files (frm, MYD and MYI) to the server. No success!

My provider says I have to "export the database" first. When I ask himhow to export it, his reply is "have no idea" (he is just a salesman, not a geek).

So what do I do?

Please reply in plain English, not complicated computer language.
