I just tried to install courier-0.22 step by step based on the INSTALL-file. Configure, make, make check and make install works fine. You should:
A) Post a sample bounce message.
B) Post the contents of the relevant log file, /var/log/syslog or /var/log/maillog

Thanks, but there's a little problem: /var/log/syslog and /var/log/maillog don't exist only /var/log/mail (I'm running on SuSE Linux 6.3) But here's the content of /var/log/mail :
