HI, and thanks for reading:

Debian Lenny + Courier-mta + Courier-IMAP + Sqwebmail

in the preferences page(sqwebmail) when a user tries to change his password get an error message listed above:

after a click on (change password) and a few (aprox 20) seconds later

ERROR: Unable to change password. Possible reasons why you cannot change the password are:

- You did not enter the old password correctly - You did not enter the new password twice correctly - Your new password is too short, or is based on a dictionary word, and short/dictionary-based passwords are not allowed - Your new password contains forbidden characters

what i have done:

1. check /etc/default/locale and find this LANG=en_US.UTF-8 2. expect is installed 3. Check the script /usr/lib/courier/courier-authlib/authsystem.passwd, permission and possible malconfigured line, but anything seems to be ok. 4. Googled, but just find ino about the "locale" value and about expect.

a few months ago i have a similar issue and changing the locale value helped me a lot, but not this time.

i will thanks any help.
