apic, acpi, don't confuse me. :-) I will have to look up what I disabled last time (I think it was acpi, though). Or do you mean you would like to have a boot -v dmesg without apic, too? I do not use a serial console up to now, but probably I could learn how to do that (fortunately the machine still has a serial port).
