Subject:[courier-users] failed authenticationActions...

i've got courier imap .36b up and running with mysql authentication enabled, but i'm getting failed authentications.

i've run authtest in gdb to try and pinpoint the place where it's croaking...seems to be in authdaemon.auth_daemon, it's bombing out with errno=EACCES, but i don't know _what_ the permission problem is on. i'm running the program as root, triple checked the username/passwords for the database, and the authdaemon processes hve been kicked off.

any ideas?

environment: redhat 6.2, kernel 2.2.16
