i currently have maildrop filter my local account as mail comes in but i want to be able to offer server side filtering to my clients but i want to ask how to do this since the users cant actually log in to edit their file .mailfilter, and they dont have a home dir, just a maildir folder where all the virtual mail is stored, they auth against a mysql database. is this possible? if so how?

Sure.

Write the code to do it.

The only other suggestion I have for you is to install SqWebMail, which includes a web interface for creating very simplistic, unsophisticated, maildrop recipes.

well i wouldnt want to reinvent the wheel or anything if someone has already written something like that, (plus i couldnt code anything if someone had a gun to my head) does someone have anything they could share? and also SqWebMail is the courier webmail client isnt it? im using squirrelmail atm, and it would interfere with that so i guess im stuck unless someone has something they could start me out with, like some sample of what they have already written.

thanks for the help
