Well, it didn't work. Don't ascii-paint with proportional fonts.

The only thing I'm not sure on is how to get maildrop to read a text file and parse the information from it or would a small database be better, it maildrop can handle it.

I keep my mailing lists in a small database. Very easy to maintain and very convenient to query from Maildrop. Maildrop supports GDBM (if compiled that way), which works for me and seems to be enough for your task (if I understand you right).
