I am trying to create an ODBC Data Adapter in Visual Studio.NET 2003.

After entering my username/password, which I know are correct, and are connecting from other apps directly, I get the error,

Access denied for user root@localhost

This is not a permissions error, this is VS.NET screwing around. What is wrong here?
