Doh... figured it out. I wasn't granting the user any privileges to the
database, so the console doesn't display the checkbox. Somehow I was thinking
that all priveileges were granted unless you chose a subset.
Yesterday I created a new database and a new user. I granted the user full
acccess to the new database. No problem.
Today I created another database and I'm trying to give the same user full
access to this database. I check off the database name and hit 'Apply'. In
the message window I see "User modified successfully". However, when the
access list in the right-hand pane of the user edit window refreshes, the
database is unchecked. This happens for any database that I attempt to check
off.
