The previous branches were called 3.0-Preview, 3.0-Prelude, because the versions were 3.0-Preview, 3.0-Prelude respectively. Just like we name the promoted branch as 3.0-bxx, we should have named the branch for version 3.0 as 3.0. Remember, in maven, 3.0 is the final release and 3.0-FCS < 3.0.
When you move the branch to tag, move it to tags/3.0.
