Yes...trying to "optimize" the amount of time I have to wait for the operation to complete. Most of the files that I'm mirroring to the JAZ media don't change over time and a number of the files are rather large (we've got some 3rd party binaries checked into our Perforce depot, so we'll all have access to the same versions).

But for the permissions-change propagation problems (& media reliability), the partial copy method would've worked fine for me. It also occasionally gave me an excuse to avoid doing any work at home ("I didn't have time to sync my JAZ disk from the other location...") :-)).
