I am at a loss as well what could be causing this. Try making a file (test.php) with the following lines in your main directory and seeing if it works or fails.

That sounded good but it's a no go. Renamed suexec to suexec.old and restarted apache. Tried again still getting error 500. Christopher, I have been pondering this issue to try to find a solution and I went back and reviewed the logs and noticed you are using suEXEC. I have found listings on google about suEXEC causing 500 server errors. You might try checking the suexec error log or disabling it temporarily.

I have other applications on this server that use cookies with no problems but back to the php.ini file, I have had to make modifications for other apps before but nothing to do with cookies. I have all the files set with default permissions but I have tried to set the permissions to 777 for all files/folders and still get the same result. Hi Christopher, First off an error 11 indicates that eventum doesn't think your browser supports cookies. However, since you are getting a 500 server there is clearly something else wrong. I have not seen users getting 500 server errors before with eventum so I am going to just be asking general questions.

Have you changed any php.ini settings or apache settings that might interfere with cookies? What are the permissions set to on your files?

I have installed now 3 different versions of Eventum including the 10/11/04 bitkeeper version. I am able to run through the setup fine and even get confirmation that the install was a success but still get Internal server error 500. The DB and tables are being created fine and all permissions are correct; I even tried to change ownership to correlate to all the other files. I messed around with the index.php file and commented the cookie statements and seemed to get further but it was just bouncing off an error 11. Any help or suggestions would be great.
