I am wondering if there is a way to get the source control add-in for Visual Studio to correctly work with new files. I am reasonably sure that when we were using SourceSafe, adding a file in Visual Studio would also add the file to SourceSafe using the SCC add-in. If I do the same using the Perforce add-in, the new file is listed in Visual Studio's pending checkins window but is not added to my default change list.

It isn't a major problem as I can use the 'Client files not in depot' view in P4Win to find new files before I submit a changelist but I would like to know if there is a better way.
