As the Minnesota MySQL User Group organizer I've been asked to suggest speakers with MySQL expertise at high-level events sponsored by the Center for Strategic Information Technology and Security at Metropolitan State University here in Minneapolis. They are offering an Open Source Academy of monthly sessions for business leaders and managers and are planning a 2-day Open Source Conference in the spring. Dates are available beginning in March.

I'm not sure what's being offered for expenses/compensation, but I can explain the need and connect you with the event organizers if you are interested. The Twin Cities is ripe for Open Source consultants, so I would advise MySQL experts in Chicago or the Midwest region to consider this opportunity.
