Hello Phil,

For Windows systems (NT, 9x, 2k), Perforce has a very good GUI, named "P4win". It is the best GUI I found in CM tools for Windows. I have 100 users, and except for the configuration manager himself , everybody use Just P4win GUI.

In addition, it is easy to implement home-made shell GUI , for complex tasks. Usualy, the wrapper is written in Perl, with TCL/TK or VB or VC++ for the GUI.

In Unix, Perforce has not its built-in GUI, but the TKP4 by Rick Macdonald (a freeware !) does most of the work. It looks that Rick will have a full-compatible-P4win in TKP4 soonly.

I am in the process of evaluating software tools and would be interested to know whether a Gui interface is available or planned for Perforce.

If a Gui is available, how good do users find it? Does it offer all of the capabilities of the command line interface?

A CM product (RMS) failed at a previous site that I worked at, in part due to the lack of a user friendly interface.

Finally is there an HTML interface to Perforce?

Thanks for any information
