I'm running a mail server with Postfix and Courier IMAP. I'm trying to get both of these to authenticate off the same password database. My preferred solution would be to authenticate off /etc/userdb.

Postfix is using the Cyrus SASL library for authentication. This supports PAM (among other things). I've been trying to hack Courier's authuserdb module into PAM form without any success. Has anybody else done this? If so, do you care to share the code??

Courier already has an authpam module. Use that instead.
