Hello, can I use variables, like $LOGNAME in a file I check with lookup from my .mailfilter?

How? Just putting them in the file has not worked for me. If not, why?

What let you to believe that it should work like that?

Is there a certain reason why not?

Because that's not how it works.

You cannot use variables in an explicit /pattern/, so why do you believe that you can use variables in patterns read from a file, with lookup()?
