Thanks, that worked The connection file I had defined was there under the "connections"
subdirectory. I edited it to fix the database password that was wrong, then it
loaded. The darn program should not behave that way, but thank you for fixing
the problem ! Scott

They're defined in c:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data\MySQLCC (or something like that, I don't knoe precisely). Or if you're on UNIC: ~/.mysqlcc

I think the settings may be causing it to choke, meaning the server connections
that are defined in MYSQLCC. When I remove the software and reinstall, those
setting are still there. I guess there is an issue with the installation program
? Does anyone know how to clean out the defines servers from this program
(registry?)

Are you sure you are not opening the Winmysqladmin? When it spawns it open for a few seconds and then closes itself to a small icon on the taskbar. You can open it permanently by right clicking on the icon (a little green traffic light) and selecting "show me" from the context popup menu.On the other hand MySQLCC should stay spawn and stay open. The mysqladmin executable is in the MySQL/Bin folder, while the MySQLCC executable is in the MySQLCC folder.

A least that is how they installed on my machine.

When I launch the control Center, it starts then disappears automatically after about 5 seconds. when I originally installed it did not do this?
