If I were you, I'd report the bug first. Note that it doesn't affect all users. If I rebuild esmtpclient.o, cc1 doesn't seem to use more than 25MB of memory. Since the gcc developers may need you to reproduce the problem for them, they'll be best suited to tell you how to get debugging information from gcc to figure out why it's allocating so much memory.
