I was working with storeRegEx and had trouble reading the regular expression I saw. I am used to things like [A-Z]{1}[a-z]{1-8}[0-9][r][d] to find something like George3rd

The \ seemed different than UNIX / so I wanted to see some more examples.

Are there example repositories where I can search for (more examples and )sample code and alternatives?

I did scan the source and found the same example as on Canoo's site.
