You can also get secondary server licenses. That will prevent your scrambling to fix the licensing while you're dealing with everything else. The default license won't work if you load it with more than two client specs or users.

You'll need a temp license from them if you plan on doing any testing on the new (hot backup) machine. Or you can run with the default license that allows two users only. We just recently switched servers, and you definitely need to square away a license for that. You'll need to contact licensing to get a change of server form. The old license will still work for a 15 day grace period during the transition.
Thanks,

practicing a resore from checkpoint on a hot backup machine.
I am just trying to verify that the restore from checkpoint works an a different machine. Once I verify that it works the new machine will be the new P4 Server and the old one will become a backup. And the license error comes up and tells me to delete clients and users.
Do I ask Perforce for another license with the new IP ?
Thanks
