The ident lookup is just a cause of problems. I've had the - noidentlookup in place for a couple of years now, but I remember that it took a good while before I figured out that it was the solution. This really should be the default.

instead, as i requested about a year ago, one should be able to specify the time courier waits for an ident reply, but this has been denied without any logical reason.
