I grepped my maillog for users with quota problems and I found this:
courierlocal: id=0014001E.462F239F.00001239,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=0014001B.462F40CC.000029E0,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=00140013.462F4158.00002A1A,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=00140005.462F59B3.000040B8,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=00140005.462F5BBA.0000428C,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=00140005.462F5D20.000043B3,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=0014001B.462F6C41.00005547,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=00140058.462F6E88.000059AF,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=00140015.462F70D4.00005C5D,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=00140088.462F80A9.0000713F,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=0014001B.462F84FE.000074FD,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=0014001B.462F866F.0000768F,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota.
If I look at the full log for one of these messages, it looks like this:
courierd: newmsg,id=0014001B.462F866F.0000768F: dns; localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) courierd: started,id=0014001B.462F866F.0000768F,from=<#@[]>,module=local,host=bowieb@b uc.com!!###!###!/xxx/xxx/buc.com/bowieb!!,addr=<bow...@buc.com> courierlocal: id=0014001B.462F866F.0000768F,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>: maildrop: maildir over quota. courierlocal: id=0014001B.462F866F.0000768F,from=<#@[]>,addr=<bow...@buc.com>,size=6742,su ccess: Message delivered. courierd: completed,id=0014001B.462F866F.0000768F
There is no quota defined for this account, so why am I seeing an over quota message?
Also, why I would see the error and then the success message? There are no exception clauses in the .mailfilter, so any delivery error should cause a failure.
These messages are delivery failure notices aliased to me from postmaster. I don't see this for messages from normal senders.
