Here the commands and listings on what Im doing.

Hope it makes sence .. moving (on the same server) to another mailbox. Here the quota isn't taken even from the mails already in there. Only the new mailed mail is counted.

/var/mail/virtual/domain.tld/carl -> /var/mail/virtual/domain.tld/test

We are moving away from an old server into a server that supports quota. I moved the messages/folders and they are accessable for the user. What doesn't happen is that the these messages are added to the total usage.

I tried to recalulate the Maildir but no luck .. searched the (man)pages but can't find any good references.

Delete all but the first line of the Maildir/maildirsize file. Quotas will be recalculated after the next

delivery.

Removed all but the top line. Then I see it gets filled again but doesn't take in account the new created folders. These folders are accessable from the IMAP server.

What is the procedure to move from one server to another. Im trying the following.

Create gz file from all folders in the Maildir/ FTP to new server and unpack in newly created Maildir/ chown all to have the correct ownership Then empty the maildirsize files (leave top line) Sent mail to account to have size recalulated.

All new dirs are accessable and the file names include the size ...

What goes wrong ?

I'm not sure what the problem is here. The only thing I can think of is a problem with the permissions or the directory structure.

Send me the output of an 'ls -lRa' on the maildir. If you have any humungous directories, you can cut all but 3 or 4 of the email files from the output before you mail it.
