A question about the layout of the Sent folder in webmail.
In folder Sent the messages have the reciepient's (To)
address in the From/To field, while the messages in
Inbox.Sent.2004.<date> archive folder have the sender's
(From) address in the From/To field. This is the case with
Courier 0.45.4 as well as 0.48.2 which i have just installed
and checked.
I see what you mean.
The sender's (From) address is not very helpful when
searching for an old message in
these archive Sent folders, since the sender is
usually/always me. Is it possible for archive
Sent.2004.<date> folders to have the reciepients (To) address
in the From/To field ?
I agree; however, I'm not sure that it's terribly easy to search through
by manually going through all of these folders looking for some message
you sent, unless you're a lot better about remember exactly when you
sent mail than I am ;)
Since I have access directly to the mailstore, I use grep for some
searches. Other searches I perform using an IMAP client.
I guess I just see the webmail as a nice way to get at my messages when
I'm out of the office and don't want to take the time to set up a
client. I do not try to use it as a complete replacement for a
full-featured email client.
So, to sum it up, I don't try to do that, I had never noticed that
issue, and I don't know the fix; however, since you will probably repost
again if nobody answers, here's your answer... Maybe one of the two
workarounds will work for you.
Any suggestion/hint would be most wellcome
Thank you in advance
