Hi there,

I'm running into a problem compiling courier on a system running redhat 7.2.

checking for fcntl... no checking for flock... no checking for lockf... no checking for locking method... configure: error: must specify --with-locking-method option configure: error: ./configure failed for liblock

I don't know what I'm missing here. Is file locking a kernel thing? How do I go about installing a file locking mechanism?

Courier builds fine on Red Hat. You must have a corrupted development environment. You will find the actual compiler error messages, that failed the configuration script, in liblock/config.log near the end of the file. You'll need to use them to figure out what's broken, and how to fix it.
