I've installed the latest courier-imap package on Irix 6.5.12 with authldap. I would like to use only authldap.

1. problem : I can't start the pop3d daemon. I am getting AUTHFAILURE. Nothing in my logs.

2. problem : I can start imapd as standalone daemon but I can't telnet port 143. Trying 127.0.0.1... telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

Port scanning on localhost shows that there is no 143 listening.

required config-files are :

authdaemonrc imapd authldaprc pop3d

all situated in /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc

I think that I've configured them all correctely... OpenLDAP is running fine. Can use all the standard tools to search, delete, modify etc. entries. So I presume that it is NOT an ldap-problem...

./authinfo shows :

AUTHENTICATION_MODULES="authdaemon" AUTHDAEMONMODULELIST="authcustom authcram authldap authuserdb" SASL_AUTHENTICATION_MODULES="CRAM-SHA1 CRAM-MD5 PLAIN LOGIN"

The next thing I can't use is the pretty nice authtest-tool. It always gives me a "Authentication FAILED" message. Unfortunately I don't know why.

Can someone please help me out ?
