Jimmi,
Even without taking into account changes in the API, it believe it would still be extremely difficult to release software based on Adwords API.
This is because the software must be written to deal with errors. This includes:
(a) The ability to retry later in the case that Adwords is not providing service
(b) The ability to roll back to a consistant state in the case that AdWords does not accept changes for reasons of content (applies to creatives and keywords.)
(c) The ability to report to the user in a meaningful way of what failures occured, so that he can deal with them
I would also not use such a system unless it also had:
(d) The ability to synchronize with changes made in your campaigns manually using the HTML interface.
This is important for dealing with (1) changes in AdWords, (2) bugs in your program, (3) errors returned by API calls, (4) operations done manually in order to save quota.
Best regards.
Ben

I am currently developing AdWords integration to an already existing system (.Net), where we both import existing campaigns, and data several times a day, to ensure consistence between AdWords and our system.
We have throughout the implementation period had lots of problems with stability, it always seems like something is being changed or updated, causing my developers gray hair, and sleepless nights.
Summary: How do you rate the overall stability of the AdWords API, good enough for a Gold release of software relying on the API?
Regards Jimmi
