CGE = Carrier Grade Edition

Stewart, could you please explain what is the Carrier Grade Edition and why it was created? I read about the CGE, but could not understand the principal difference of CGE from the regular MySQL Cluster. It has some new features, but it escapes me why these new features are not just added to the regular MySQL Cluster.

Regards,

Anatoly.
