Recently upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP and I'm having problems starting mysql.

I enter mysql-shareware.exe --standalone on the command line and it just hangs.

C:\mysql\bin> mysqld-shareware.exe --standalone

I've also tried the following exe's without any difference: mysqld.exe mysqld-nt.exe mysqld-max-nt.exe

Can anyone help me with this?
