This could be related to the bugs within Netscape. In the courier-imap-1.x.x/imap/README file there is mention of a configure flag to enable workarounds.

with mozilla, i still have a probleme with "Empty trash" option. I must use netscape 4.7x for empty the trash.

Hmmm,

Interesting situation with Mozilla. I'm messing around with Netscape 6.

What you want to achieve depends on a few conditions and that they are dependent on how etc/imapd is configured to handle "Trash" and how you have configured Netscape.

If you are attempting to use "Empty Trash" from Netscape menu whilst having "IMAP_MOVE_EXPUNGE_TO_TRASH=1" in etc/imapd then I doubt it will work for you.

I think you will need to increase "MAXPERIP=" in etc/imapd from 4 to say 10. It appears that Netscape wants to open up lots of connections to the IMAP server.

You will need to check your "Server" properties in Netscape and also the "Advanced" options therein.

As I said before, how it will work will depend on how both ends are configured.

Cheers,

Larry.
