------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Australian Government passed a law in 1984 that says that holotypes must be deposited in Australia. The act defines the kind of institution that can be a repository for the holotype. The act is regulated through export permits which are required in order to take specimens out of Australia, and it is a condition of the export permit that holotypes be deposited in Australia.
