Were you on 5.0-RELEASE or 4.X?
I got a functioning build on 5.0 with a few 'pre-requisites'.
Perhaps 5.0 has newer tools?
I was on 4.6.2-RELEASE, but the errors I was running into had to do with
automake/autoconf not being current enough. The current (unnumbered)
port for automake is 1.5, and the automake16 port is a broken 1.7.2 (go
figure), as is the automake17 port. The port for autoconf is 2.53, and
autoconf254 is broken, as is autoconf257.
The release notes for courier 0.41.0 appear to say that it needs automake
1.6/autoconf 2.54.
ls /var/db/pkg shows me on automake14-1.4.5_9 and autoconf-2.53_1
- this box was upgraded from 4.7-RELEASE-P[whatever}, but it was sometime
before upgrading to 5.0 that I last ran pkg_update.
OK, I'll try building from source -- I was actually trying to update
the port manually.
Will do my monthly CVS and make world sometime this week. Will advise.
BTW - curious as to why you are still at 4.6.2?
Lack of console access makes it hard to upgrade kernels. This is a
dedicated server in California; I am in Virginia. However, I
misremembered which box I tried to build courier on; that was the
4.7-RELEASE box in my apartment...
