The installer of MySQL doesn't make any registry beside the normal registry of InstallShield for the uninstall operation.

The only care that you need to have on NT/Win2000 machine before upgrade a current installation is to remove the service before to run the setup.exe. Also if you intent to use a Max server you need to set the /windir/my.ini file for the InnoDB tables.

I have a packaged software product that ships with MySQL. When I start it up, it starts mysqld-nt, however, it is starting a version that was already installed on my machine ( I am guessing through registry entries ). I uninstalled the old one, and it still tries to start that instance of MySQL.

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to get this to work?

Thanks! Aaron.
