Exactly what takes time;
- Connecting to a mysql server - Executing queries.
To be able to help you I would need to know a lot more about this.

------ Oops, apologies, Monty, original email was meant for the list too!
The main, or only problem I have with Mysql on home machine is the speed of executing queries via my own written php scripts and also others' software.
Clicking on a button on a webpage in my browser to call a script just hangs around for ages, machine whirring noises and eventaully the page appears then to get through a particular 'contact management' set of pages to see all updated info takes so long I give up and check the info on the Dos command line instead as its quicker. The reason for writing the scripts in the first place was to see a user friendly view of the info and easy click thru of each stage to add, delete or modify things as obviously the sql query is written into the script but then I have to write all the queries out by hand again on the Dos command which(if you just accidentally miss out and odd quote mark will not get you anywhere) is pain in the a...
Logging on at first and connecting seems fine. Simple scripts dont take too long, but the contact management set of scripts is cookie session controlled and takes ages. Also I have my own beta Php-Nuke version on home machine for testing new modules but ended up just adding another beta version online as its quicker to dialup, go to online server add, delete, modify etc. than it is do wait for a couple of pages to appear FROM the home version.
I hope this explains things. Can I adjust any MySql config files to make it run quicker on win95?
Regards, Chris
